Dan's Resume and Bio

Dan French is a twice Emmy-nominated comedy writer, with a wide variety of credits.

In talk shows, Dan has worked as a staff writer and producer on Dennis Miller, The Late, Late Show at CBS, and The Best Damn Sports Show Period.

In webisodes, Dan has created and executive produced two shows currently in production, Game Film, for SuperDeluxe.com, which revoices public domain sports footage, and Gettin' Rich with Vic, with OnNetworks.com, a series of instructional videos about alternative ideas for getting rich in America –i.e., turn your home into a private prison.

In narrative TV, Dan has had sitcom, variety, and reality projects with such companies as Quentin Tarrantino's A Band Apart Productions, Pariah Entertainment, and Sony.

In film, Dan is a punch-up writer, and author of four as-of-yet unproduced screenplays.

In live performance, Dan is a headlining standup comic who has performed in most of the major comedy clubs and nearly every state in the country.

Dan also writes for numerous nationally known standup comedians, including Dennis Miller, Rodney Carrington, Ron White, Jimmy Shubert, and Jon Reep.

Dan is a former college professor with a Ph.D. in Communication Studies, and has taught courses including screenwriting, sitcom writing, comedy writing, media theory and criticism.

Dan is also an excellent corporate speaker/entertainer, having lectured at the Naval War College and IBM on such topics as persuasion, the art of rhetoric, deeper modes of human communication, and the power of creativity.

Dan also teaches seminars on comedy writing, comedy careers, and standup. He has mentored a huge list of young comedians who have gone on to work on such shows as Saturday Night Live, Mad TV, network sitcoms (Everybody Loves Raymond, The King of Queens, Rodney) and appeared in hundreds of national commercials.

He currently resides in Austin, Texas.

Corporate Speaker. Paid speaker at numerous organizations, including Naval War College, IBM, Duke University. Subjects include Why All Communication Must Fail, The Human Art of Persuasion, T-Ball CEO.

Standup Comedy Writer. Hired writer for standups, including Dennis Miller, Ron White, Jimmy Shubert, Jon Reep, Rodney Carrington, many others.
